An odd bug in Destiny 2 allowed a player to invade the opposing team's camp in Gambit mode for nearly three minutes. In the typical mechanics of Destiny 2's Gambit, invasions usually last for about 30 seconds, after which the invader is sent back to their base. However, one Guardian had a rather exceptional experience.
Glitches and bugs have been a prevalent issue in Destiny 2 since its launch in 2017. From the notorious Telesto glitches to instances where players could assemble 12-man raids, the community has witnessed a variety of unexpected occurrences. Recently, Destiny 2 players encountered a significant bug related to weapon crafting, enabling them to create a malfunctioning auto-rifle resembling a shotgun, dealing substantial damage with multiple pellets. This bug persisted for an entire weekend, allowing players to breeze through endgame activities. Though the current Gambit bug may not be as game-breaking as the previous weapon crafting bug, it certainly warrants investigation by Bungie.

A user named TAQ-2015 shared a video on the Destiny 2 subreddit, demonstrating how the bug permitted them to invade in Gambit for an extended period—nearly three minutes. Seizing this opportunity, they successfully eliminated several members of the opposing team, causing confusion and difficulty in locating the invader, likely due to glitchy movements. Interestingly, during the invasion, the invader's teammate was also able to join them, resulting in a duo efficiently dispatching numerous enemies. Eventually, one of the players from the enemy team managed to identify the invader's location and put an end to their streak.
While this occurrence was captured on video, it appears to be an isolated incident, with no widespread reports of other players encountering this glitch regularly. Consequently, the issue may not prompt immediate attention from Bungie, especially considering their firm stance on Gambit in Destiny 2 after repeated appeals from the community.
In other news, Bungie recently shared additional details about the three new Light Supers arriving with Destiny 2: The Final Shape. Furthermore, they confirmed that the upcoming Season 23 will introduce Foundry weapon crafting, allowing players to craft Suros, Hakke, Veist, and Omolon weapons. Additionally, these weapons will no longer be found in Legendary Engrams from the world drop loot pool, and will only be available at Banshee
